Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life in our day. The sabbath is an opportunity to cease from our hurry and just delight in the presence of God.

The essence of being created in the image of God is our ability, like God to stop and delight. We imitate God by stopping our work and resting. This requires surrender to keep the Sabbath.

Sabbath is an opportunity to reorder our disordered hearts. Sabbath is an opportunity to enter the holy rest ...to enter the presence of God and allow Him to speak the words of life to us and nourish our souls.
